798 Art District

📍 beijing, china

798 Art District is a former military factory complex turned contemporary art hub, where industrial spaces now house galleries, studios, trendy cafés, and rotating exhibitions.

It’s a highly recommended spot for creatives as it's full of visual surprises. Just note that most galleries are open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday, and according to my local friend it does get quite busy on weekends.

----

I had a free Sunday and made plans to catch up with a friend over lunch. We decided to meet in Wangjing (望京), also known as Korea Town. The café had a bit of a Korean vibe, and honestly, most of the people seated around us were Korean too hehe.

We ordered salad, sandwiches, and pancakes.

After lunch, we realized 798 Art District was just a short 5-minute car ride away.

We arrived at 798 Art District !

This gallery was spacious. It sold art prints, furnitures, original art work.

I loved these little handmade creatures.
